Kona coffee began it’s first commercial production in 1828. The Japanese migrant workers of Kona, who came to the island of Hawaii as laborers saw this as an opportunity to become independent, and moved out on their own to become coffee farmers. The Murasakis were one of these Japanese families. For well over 100 years (3 generations) the Murasakis have grown and produced Kona coffee. Being grown, produced, harvested and processed strictly on their own farm has given the Murasaki’s Kona coffee the distinction of being “estate” coffee. This uniqueness as well as the many years of farming (full time) makes Murasaki’s Estate Kona coffee a product of quality and consistency. Please enjoy the coffee that has become part of Kona’s Heritage.
